Astroneer Glitchwalkers DLC Release Date Revealed for November

Developer and newest member of the Devolver Digital family, System Era Softworks, has revealed the release date for the first-ever DLC for Astroneer, Glitchwalkers. This paid DLC expansion is set to arrive on November 13, and it brings a long-requested feature back.

With having over 11 million players since the Astroneer 1.0 release and five years of space-filled adventures, the developer is throwing another planet into the mix. Building upon the survival sandbox gameplay experience, the Glitchwalkers DLC goes to extremes with the newest and largest planet ever in the game. New biomes, technology, and gameplay features along with the game’s first true villain await space adventurers.

Based around a disgruntled member of the ESS Elysium crew, Lyn, the story unfolds as she begins to mess around with the Astroneer Training Program’s (ATP) code. Working with Frank, Elysium’s Head of Maintenance, players will try to stop Lyn and her nefarious plans before she completely wrecks the ATP.

The Glitchwalkers DLC transports players to the enormous world of Aeoluz. Located in a glitched solar system, players will be tasked with counter hacking Lyn, breaking down the firewalls and restoring the ATP to normal functioning parameters.

Aeoluz is a massive world, hosting a variety of new surface and cave biomes for players to explore. A new tech tree, along with modules, offer players new ways to progress and unlock technology both familiar and new. Glitchwalkers expands the Astroneer universe while including all the crafting, building, and exploration game aspects that players have enjoyed and experienced.

Storms are returning to the expansion and base game. Glitched Storms have appeared in the system and players must protect themselves from being hacked. These digital tempests can create all sorts of chaos for the player while on their critical mission.

A free companion update is planned for the base game that will introduce new gameplay, quality of life improvements and bug fixes.
