Independent game developer and publisher Alawar has announced that the Beholder: Conductor playtest is now live on Steam. Players can now take the conductor’s seat in the next installment of the dystopian Beholder series.
First announced last February, Beholder: Conductor is a game much like its predecessors, featuring strategic choices wrapped up in a narrative political simulation. While this game is not directly related to the story seen in previous games in the Beholder series, players can expect a similar gameplay style known to the franchise.
Board the Determination Bringer and carry out vital Ministry directives as a newly appointed conductor. Determine the fate of passengers and colleagues by monitoring passengers, reporting incidents, and carrying out important Ministry assignments. The more loyalty one has, the higher the level of secrecy of these assignments. Mission success is very important. Make decisions and shape the destiny of the train’s journey and those who are along for the ride.
All aboard the playtest. The developer noted that this is an early version of the game. Players may encounter bugs or other unexpected issues.
Feedback is critical during this playtest to help refine the gameplay experience, while also ensuring player choices feel impactful. Players are encouraged to discuss, stream, and share their gameplay moments with the community on the Alawar Discord server or Steam forum.
