Publishers PID Games and Iceberg Interactive along with developer Bad Viking have released their 2D plant shop investigative mystery puzzle game, Strange Horticulture, on mobile platforms.
The occult puzzle game is now available on iOS and Android. A complete redesign for mobile has been done to include accessibility options, performance settings, and a new layout that aims to provide the best experience possible for players.
First launching on PC in January 2022, Strange Horticulture has accumulated over 9,000 reviews, with 95% of the reviews being positive for an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating. In July of the same year, the game was released on Nintendo Switch. In August 2023 an Xbox release dropped and most recently in February of this year the game appeared on the PlayStation platform.
Gameplay is focused on the horticulture happenings around the quaint town of Undermere. The dark and cozy puzzle adventure sends players into the surrounding hag-infested forests and rugged mountains where they can collect and catalog powerful plants. Players will want to exercise caution as these lands are not always friendly and can present various challenges and obstacles to overcome.
As a horticulturist, players run the town’s plant store. In addition they will provide care for Hellebore, a feline resident at the shop. The busy store always has a cast of colorful customer characters who always need something from the shop whether it be a hypnotic hallucinogen or a powerful poison. Enjoy the local gossip and decide if a dive into an occult mystery that stretches back in time for centuries is worth investigating.
