Sengoku Dynasty Farming Update Adds Aratani Village

Now available on PC, Farming Update Part 1adds Aratani, a new farming village to the fictional medieval Japan based title Sengoku Dynasty. Published by Toplitz Productions and Polish developed by Superkami, this is the first major content for the multiple genre open-world RPG, city builder, life simulation and survival game.

The Farming Update will arrive in stages. Part 1 of the Sengoku Dynasty Farming Update introduces players to the new village of Aratani. Located in the southern region of the vast world map, this peaceful tight-knit farming village is full of surprises. Players can interact with farming traders to restock their resources. Exciting new quests await eager adventurers, such as the Of Rice and Men quest that unlocks farming fields and new ways to cultivate the land.

Agriculture was both a crucial activity in medieval Japan and one of the most often requested features by our players. We’re pleased to introduce it in our first major content update, which also includes a substantial performance boost for the entire game. We look forward to sharing more about our future plans soon.

A diverse variety of land and water crops to sow and harvest are available in the update. Players can now plant garlic, leeks, millet, parsley, rice, turnips, and wasabi. Both land and water fields can be created to plant the desired crop. For example players can create highly distinctive rice terraces for rice farming.

This update adds means for players to work and manage the land. New farming tools such as the farming hoe, seed bag and watering bucket are available to maintain sown crops. Sown crops will require watering, fertilization, and weeding.

Fertilizer is a dirty and often smelly business. A new composting station allows for the creation of fertilizer from rot.

Community feedback has been taken in since the Early Access launch and this update is introducing the much requested game feature of resource regrowth. The regrowth feature will lessen the desolation caused by aggressive deforestation. Players will notice that overly harvested resources will regrow and respawn over time. Depleted mining deposits also have a small chance of respawning.

Players can now greet their co-op friends with a polite bow, meditate with the falling leaves, or stretch their backs via a new Emoting system. The system is starting with a total of twelve emotes with more emotes to come in the future. More is planned for this system in future updates including NPCs reacting to a players behavior.

Other changes in the update include performance optimizations, audio optimizations, UI changes, new meal recipes, recipe updates, fall damage rework, reduced hammer stamina costs, and numerous bug fixes.
