The long awaited turn-based deck building strategy RPG game from AYGames, Deck of Ashes, has entered Early Access launch today on Steam.
Leading up to the Early Access launch for Deck of Ashes several key systems have been covered in various trailers. Most importantly the combat system, deck building mechanics, and enemies have been showcased in their own video features. In addition players got to see the layout of the one safe harbor in Deck of Ashes, the Camp, and all of the amenities that are offered through the various NPCs.
The procedurally-generated dark world of Deck of Ashes has also been explored in a story trailer. In the trailer we learn about the mysterious Ash Curse and its origins through uncontrolled greed and quest for power from a group called The Outcasts. Their act of shattering Lady Death’s Ash Box unleashed the curse onto themselves corrupting The Outcasts and the world around them. Players take on the role of an Outcast who seeks redemption by cleaning the lands of the Ash Curse and battling evil.
A dangerous hostile world awaits that is filled with beasts, demons, and even the undead all tainted with the Ash Curse. Some are even a hideous mix of multiple monsters. Players start on a path where they search for combat cards, supplies, and other resources. Decks are composed of ruthless antiheroes where players pick a champion, each with their own unique card deck. From there players set out to take on the world with their Battle Decks.
Deck of Ashes is now available today, April 11, 2019, Steam Early Access for $14.99 USD.
