Robo Instructus Programming Puzzler Release

Big AB Games has launched their Atmospheric programming puzzler Robo Instructus along with a launch release trailer.

As players begin their journey in Robo Instructus they will discover a hidden language that explores the spirit of creativity by learning to program a salvage robot on a forgotten alien world. By unraveling the functionality of the robot, players will learn new programming commands. The new functionality allows players to remotely manipulate and navigate the robot through a variety of hostile and dangerous environments. Along the way players will uncover an rich and intricate sci-fi story.

With time players will make the robot’s code more efficient. Strategic options will open up allowing multiple ways to over each challenge while diving deeper into the game’s intricate world.

In Robo Instructus players take on the role of a salvage engineer who uses code and logic with an in-game scripting language based on existing scripting languages. This experience is designed to provide a fascinating and exploitative challenge to coders and non-coders alike. Much like the story, the game itself is a puzzle that players must unravel as they continue their progress.

Each puzzle in Robo Instructus asks you to not only get your robot somewhere, but to properly articulate every step in how it gets there. Succeed and you can embrace a sort of narrative archaeology as you uncover the game’s secrets. I’ve been developing Robo Instructus for two years, the last three months in a beta phase where the game has been polished and improved thanks to the feedback of around 3,000 beta players. So now I’m very excited to see Robo Instructus releasing, and I look forward to the game finding its audience out in the PC gaming wilds.

Alex Butler, Robo Instructus Developer

During the free public Beta testers got a look at the story rich world along with some of the code-centric challenges. The beta provided feedback from around 3000 beta players that helped to squash bugs and polish the game for launch after 2 years of solo development. Players who missed the free beta opportunity can still get a taste of what Robo Instructus has to offer with a free demo that is available with the launch release.

Robo Instructus launch release is today, July 16, 2019 on both Steam and Itch.io at a regular price of $12.99 USD. A launch special promotion is running on both sites with the game for $10.39 USD. The Steam promotion is set to end on July 23. For more information on Robo Instructus players can visit the game’s website at roboinstruc.us.
