Evergate Kickstarter Stretch Goals Begin

Stone Lantern Games expansive 2D puzzle-platformer, Evergate, hit their Kickstarter funding goal and have now released 3 stretch goals.

In Evergate, players guide a child-like soul name Ki on her journey in the afterlife. The game features a unique align-to-shoot mechanic where players unleash Soulflame and harness trapped energy from crystal to solve puzzles, find lost memories, and save Ki’s spirit.

There are over 100 puzzles with open-ended solutions, over 10 crystals with unique powers, lore filled afterlife, and colossal battles against gods and nightmares. All of this is set to a scene filled with hand-drawn artwork and a rich soundtrack.

Evergate met its goal with 14 days left of the campaign. Shortly after hitting the $25,000 initial goal, the team released three new stretch goals. At $27,000, which has already been met and unlocked, is the Earthbound Crystal. Players can unleash a stream on magma along the Soulflame that hardens to form more terrain.

More memory from Ki’s past life during the Industrial Revolution is unlocked at $30,000 for the Astral Plane Memory goal. This goal adds 5 new puzzles and a steampunk inspired nightmare battle. At $35,000 the Supercharged Soulflame amplifies crystal effects, but at the cost of burning up the source used.

When the Kickstarter campaign hit 91% funding, Stone Lantern Games released a new demo for Evergate.

The stretch goals graphic has space for more stretch goals. At the time of this article’s posting the Evergate Kickstarter stands at $27,745 with 12 days to go. Funding for this project ends on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 2:02 AM PST. Visit the Kickstarter page to download a free demo and fund this project.

Stone Lantern Games has also released a behind the scenes video called Evergate Behind the Afterlife. In the video members of the team are introduced where they talk about Evergate and their experiences creating the studio’s first game. The video really helps convey the team’s passion for this project.
