Publisher Iceberg Interactive along with developer Bad Viking have revealed a gameplay trailer for their latest project, Strange Antiquities. This standalone sequel from the creative duo behind the indie sensation Strange Horticulture takes players back to Undermere with a new store.
Set in a cozy, candlelit shop located in the shadowy, rain-soaked alleys of Undermere, players will find themselves dealing with arcane artifacts. As an apprentice Thaumaturge, players will need to identify and catalog strange items, assist locals with their needs, and navigate the complex world of secrets in Undermere. Jupiter, the shop’s feline resident, is there to comfort players as the day progresses.
Taking place several years after the events of Strange Horticulture, this new dark and cozy adventure begins with hundreds of ravens circling over the town. Those in the know are concerned and almost immediately, events take a sinister turn.
We wanted to build on the ideas we explored in Strange Horticulture. This time, we’re adding new layers of detective work that add more variety and new challenges. We’re excited to hear what you think of this sneak peek!

New features in Strange Antiquities include a closer inspect system, expanded library of esoteric tomes, enhanced detective work, and a richer world to explore. Players can examine items up close, feel textures, observe details, and detect hidden properties. Volumes of tomes are at hand to solve puzzles and decode cryptic meanings from objects. Develop detective skills to discern between similar artifacts and identify those that are safe versus those that are dangerous.
Attention to detail is key in Strange Antiquities. There are often more clues than first meets the eye. With keen observation you’ll be uncovering the secrets of Undermere in no time.
