Hooded Horse and Australian developer Stutter Fox Studios is showing off the Might of Mars in the latest gameplay trailer for their space RTS Falling Frontier. The trailer offers a detailed look at new and old features plus four new ship types.
Tensions are on the rise between Mars and Titan. The Falling Frontier Might of Mars trailer shows just how far things can escalate with a planetary bombardment of Titan. With nearly 14 minutes of gameplay, the trailer also includes a look at the latest iteration of the ship designer, updated UI, and new visuals such as the brand new visuals for FTL jumps.
There is a lot going on in the trailer. New mechanics such as ships being built on planets and sent into space to resource pods being sent down to planets to add to a player’s resource pool are shown off. Gameplay footage includes a Sukula Mining Barage unloading its payload and the same vessel during a mining operation in orbit around Saturn.
Four new ships have joined the extensive roster: Berwick Frigate, Coventry Frigate, York Frigate, and Faslane Frigate. As a forward or spotter vessel, the Berwick Frigate can lay mines with the right installed module. With plenty of armaments, the Coventry Frigate acts as an excellent escort ship. The York Frigate is a scout with advanced sensor modules and optional defensive capability. Specializing in stealth, the Faslane Frigate has options for both missile pods and support drones.
Other features shown in the Might of Mars trailer include scanning for ships, customizing ships, and some old fashioned ship combat. Fittingly the gameplay trailer ends with the teased planetary bombardment of Saturn’s moon Titan.
The trailer is viewable below and on the YouTube channels for Hooded Horse and Stutter Fox Studios.
