Gameparic has announced that the El Dorado: The Golden City Builder – Prologue will be released later this month on Steam. The free-to-play prologue will offer players an opportunity to develop a small settlement before the game’s official release later this year.
After a well-received demo and playtest from last year, the studio decided to develop a release a free prologue for this unique golden city builder. The prologue is a part of the full game and will allow players to strategize and develop a small early settlement into a bustling city.
Players can expect to build, develop, manage resources, and appease the Gods as they grow their city. Use peaceful talks or conquest to dominate newly rising or existing settlements of other families to become a city worthy of gold.

The El Dorado: The Golden City Builder – Prologue will premiere on January 30, 2024 at 6:00 AM PST on Steam for free. Players can request access to the recently launched prologue playtest and help provide valuable feedback via a form on the prologue’s Steam page ahead of the official release. Thirteen languages are supported by the prologue including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish – Spain, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese – Brazil, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Turkish.
El Dorado: The Golden City Builder has a planned 2024 release date on Steam. Interested players can add the game to their Steam wishlist.
