VR game developer Bolverk Games is set to drop a massive combat update in early February for Genotype. The combat update will act as something of a re-release for the survival FPS VR adventure game that features alien-like creatures, creature printing and DNA manipulation.
Overhauled weapon upgrades, more level upgrades, new challenges, and environment improvements are just some of the changes in store for the big February update. After a post-launch price drop from $34.99 to $24.99, the game after this update will pack a lot of punch.
We’ve gone all in on this update! It’s something of a re-release for Genotype, and the combat update is something reviewers and players have been asking for in various ways.
Bo Bennekov, CEO of Bolverk Games
Since the October release of Genotype on the Meta Quest platform, the game has seen two major patch updates. Patch update 1 consisted of Quest 3 improvements including native resolution fixes along with general input improvements for all Meta Quest platforms and difficulty settings. In the second patch update, lore journals were added along with GRAID appearance blueprints, achievements, graphical and audio improvements, and general quality of life gameplay changes.
Going forward more details on the next big patch will be revealed as the patch release date nears. Last week and this week the developer teased some environmental changes around the Snowdrop Facility on the Bolverk Games X, formerly known as Twitter, account. In another post, the developer included a fun photoshoot featuring Eddie the penguin.
