Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew DLC Teased for December

Mimimi Games is set to end the studio’s run with two new DLC expansions for their self-published tactical stealth strategy game, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Both DLCs are dropping during the first week of December.

Not one, but two big Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew DLC expansions are coming to PC and consoles. Each of the two DLCs include hours of fresh content.

Six new missions expand the game’s epic story campaign. A new mythical uncharted island in the Lost Caribbean is waiting to be explored. The cursed pirate crew of The Red Marley will be welcoming new playable characters, armed with unique supernatural abilities.

Both of the DLCs will integrate seamlessly into the main game. For example players will have access to the new characters for almost any main game mission. Players may find new ways to complete missions during their adventures.

The Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew DLCs will be the final release from Mimimi Games. At the end of this past August Johannes Roth, Founder and Managing Director at Mimimi Games, announced that Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew will be Mimimi Games final game.

In the letter, the studio thanked their partners, the community and fans. The studio cited lack of downtime for the studio’s founder’s Roth and Dominik Abé as one of the reasons for its closing. Between game launches, the two found it increasingly difficult to find a balance between internal expectations for the studio, such as finding funding for the next projects, and being available for their young families.

Besides the issue of time, the studio had to acknowledge that future production costs were growing faster than potential revenues in the studio’s established genre. Ultimately the increased financial pressure and level of risk became unsustainable.

Going forward the studio’s portfolio of games will remain available on all platforms. Content note: As the December Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew DLC launch date nears, Nano Gaming News readers will want to look out for a company profile piece highlighting the studio’s 15-year long game development journey.
