Mimimi Games have announced a new stealth strategy game, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Accompanying the announcement is a Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew cinematic game trailer that introduces three game characters and some supernatural elements.
Set in an alternative history during the golden age of piracy, players will join a ghost ship with a living soul sailing the Lost Caribbean. On this ship, named The Red Marley, players will assemble a cursed pirate crew. Supernatural powers enable these pirates to defy the armies of the Inquisition of the Burning Maiden and seek out the mysterious treasure of the legendary Captain Mordechai.
In addition to the cinematic game trailer, a lengthier Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew First Gameplay Trailer was released. This trailer covered a game overview, the stealth strategy behind the game, a bit of the story, game perspective, character controls, time manipulation, unlocking the pirate crew, how to combine abilities, player freedom in strategies, world exploration, and mission structure.
Gameplay offers a top down tactical perspective allowing players to have a clear field of view. All the information one needs is available to plan out the attack and command multiple characters that work as a team to accomplish goals.
If something should go wrong, players can activate The Red Marley’s magic time manipulation powers to reset the encounter and try again. This allows for experimentation and creation of a perfectly timed stealth attack.
To defy the Inquisition, players will need to find the legendary Black Pearls. The energy from these pearls unlocks new crew members. Each has their own individual personality and special magical abilities that provide unique tactical options. The gameplay trailer features three of the eight crew members: Afia the ships lethal navigator, Gaëlle with their magical cannon, and Mr. Mercury the jokester with his pet fish companion Sir Reginald.
A variety of exotic islands dot the Lost Caribbean landscape. From tropical beaches to lively pirate shanty towns, every island is its own adventure. Players are free to select their crew members before sailing off on a mission. By mixing up the team, players can create multiple tactical strategies to enter and exit each island best suited to their own style. If something does go wrong, manipulate time and change the tactic!
