Killing Floor 2: Blood and Bonfires Update for Halloween

Tripwire Interactive have released a medieval spooky treat, Blood and Bonfires, for their first-person shooter and co-op game, Killing Floor 2. This year’s free annual Halloween update scares up some screams on both PC and consoles with a variety of new content.

Barmwich Town is the new featured community map. Available as a standard survival map this Barmwich Town can be played in Survival, Weekly, and Endless game modes. A series of seasonal objectives related to Barmwich Town are available and upon completion will reward the Plague Doctor Backpack.

Halloween Treat Prize Tickets and Halloween Treat Golden Prize Tickets are available as drops during the time-limited seasonal event. Tickets can be exchanged for cosmetic gear related to Blood and Bonfires update event. There are four weapon skin bundles and one outfit bundle, the Plague Doctor.

Two new paid DLC weapons with five weapon skins for each are available. The Blood Sickle is a tier 4 edged melee weapon for the Berserker and the G36C Assault Rifle it a tier 4 gun with armor-piercing ammo for the SWAT. Additionally there are two new free guns, the HRG Locust for the Survivalist that launches a cloud of nanobot attack locusts and the HRG Dragonsblaze, a shotgun alternative version of the Doomstick, for the Firebug.

Primary Target is the weekly game mode. In this mode, a player is chose as the VIP and all Zeds will target this player. If the VIP dies, the whole team loses. The VIP cannot health themself, however, they do start with extra health points. In addition, the VIP’s damage output and resistance is better with low health points. A new VIP is chosen for each wave and the match lasts for seven waves.

A number of bug fixes, balancing changes, and quality of life improvements are included in the update. For a more complete list of changes check out the Blood and Bonfires changelog here.

Like previous annual Halloween events, such as Day of the Zed, this event is only available for a limited time. All of the 2022 Halloween event action started on October 13 and will run until November 10.

Killing Floor 2 along with the Blood and Bonfires update is available on Windows PC through Humble BundleEpic Games Store, and Steam for $29.99. The game is also available on consoles for PS4 and PS5 from the PlayStation Store for $29.99 and on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S from Microsoft for $39.99.
