Revita to Exit Early Access, Nintendo Switch Release Date

Solo indie developer BenStar aka Benjamin Kiefer and publisher Dear Villagers announced a release date for Revita on Nintendo Switch. On April 21, 2022, the twin-stick roguelite 2D platformer will exit early access on PC and be available on the Switch eShop.

Revita has been a passion project of mine for over five years now, as it combines twitchy arcade-inspired combat with roguelike mechanics and risky decision making, as you decide what is and isn’t worth trading your HP for. We’ve received loads of useful feedback from players on Steam Early Access, and we think fans and newcomers alike will be delighted by all the content we’ve crammed into the full game. There will be surprises at every turn!

BenStar aka Benjamin Kiefer, Developer of Revita

Back at the start of early access in March 2021, the game initially offered three different biomes with more than 150 relics for players to use to create their own ultimate combos. Various strange and endearing residents inhabited the world in which the player could meet. A customizable station hub allowed for resting and over 30 vanity hats.

Over the past year, Revita has seen several patches adding more and more content with each. For example the Beasts and Bees update added more NPCs, relics, a celestial weapon, secrets, and achievements along with many other features. The Cursed Choices update added a new world, new gameplay mechanics, more NPCs and more relics. Also, one cannot forget to mention more hats along the way.

Heading into the release build players will finally be able to reach the conclusion of the nameless child’s ascent through the Clocktower. The nameless child will finally be able to reclaim all of their lost memories and figure out what exactly is going on in their life. In other words on April 21, players can feed their need for procedurally-generated rooms and challenging boss fights in full retro 2D pixel graphics on their PC or Switch.

We’re all big fans of roguelites around here and Revita has the polish, inventiveness, and charm to make it stand apart from the rest. It’s so fast, tense, addictive, and really nails the chunky arcade feel required to bring a twin-stick shooter to life. That it’s also overflowing with content and customization options keeps it fresh for months on end!
