Independent game developer Intermarum announced PC and console release date for their restoration simulation title, Workshop Simulator. This March, players will be able to craft and restore vintage furniture, tools, toys and works of art using digital versions of the real-world tools and technical craft skills.

Countless highly-detailed 3D objects, vintage in nature, await to be built, repaired and restored. The old abandoned family workshop features a detailed and authentic experience with all the proper tools: hammers, drills, paints, and machinery. All the objects are rich in both visual and physical details allowing for an authentic experience using a range of real-world techniques, tools, and specialist equipment.

Gameplay unlocks more tools and equipment. As players experience the joy of turning old into new they will see their efforts become small works of art. Finished projects can be sold to fund better tools and enable more restoration opportunities.

Through a request from the the player’s grandmother, the whole workshop adventure begins. Along with the tools and dust is a heartwarming and nostalgic trip that explores the family’s history through various treasures passed down between generations.

There’s something about restoring items and toys which taps into a sense of nostalgia, creativity, and, warmth. This is turn breathes new life into items which may have otherwise been discarded. It’s a hard thing to capture in a videogame, but we feel we’ve got pretty close with Workshop Simulator and we hope that players will love what we have created for them and enjoy tinkering and restoring items so that they shine.
