Modus Games along with Colombian indie developers Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK released their time traveling JRPG, Cris Tales, on PC and consoles. Available on most current platforms, the single player adventure is an indie love letter to classic JRPGs and takes players on a time warping adventure into the past, present, and future.
A brand new trailer that showcases the trials of Crisbell, the game’s protagonist, and what she must overcome if there is any hope to save the world. The game’s story unfolds as the orphan girl Crisbell who gains new time powers and later finds her land under attack by goblins. Crisbell begins traveling in time working to save the kingdom of Crystallis from the evil threat. Using Crisbell’s ability to slip between time periods, players aid citizens across the kingdom and perform surprise attacks on enemies.
Presented as a turn-based RPG, players have the unique ability to time jump. Gameplay is heavily influenced by these time jumps as they can occur both on the map and in-battle. In each era combat functions differently providing players more ways to take down their opponents. During her travels, Crisbell will gather allies to help the cause and work towards reshaping the future and saving the world.
Cris Tales is available on Windows PC through Humble Bundle, Steam, Epic Games, and GOG for $39.99 USD. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Stadia. A Cris Tales Collector’s Edition is available at the Maximum Games Store for $99.99 USD. The Cris Tales Original Soundtrack is also available form Humble Bundle and Steam for $9.99 USD.
