Capricia Productions and publisher All in! Games are blending a powerful story with a metal music album for an emotional experience in Of Bird and Cage. The developer doesn’t want gamers to just listen to the music they want them to #PLAYtheMusic.
Based off the classic Beauty and the Beast tale, the game takes a dark, twisted, and full of powerful music journey through a 3D two hour story of trauma, violence, and madness. A narrative driven by an intense music adventure greats players as they step into the shoes of an aspiring sing and drug-addict Gitta Barbot. As a woman with a traumatic past and tragic present, she works to break free from her own mental prison while at the same time escaping from a real physical prison.
Gitta’s imprisoner is a man called Bres Lupus and they have a very twisted relationship. The first person journey will take many twists and turns with each choice having consequences. In the end it will Gitta break free, move on, and unveil the truth?
The music behind the game is comprised of a wide range of artists. Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus) as Gitta Barbot and Davidavi ‘Vidi’ Dolev (Gunned Down Horses) as Bres Lupus provide vocals for the two main characters. Other featured artists include Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Rob van der Loo (Epica), Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation), Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria), Casey Grillo (ex-Kamelot), Rocky Gray (ex-Evanescence), Mike Lepond (Symphony X), Tina Guo (cello soloist), and Snowy Shaw (ex-King Diamond, ex-Therion) to create a symphonic metal presented in a unique interactive experience.
Of Bird and Cage and its metal music is now available on Windows PC through Steam for $14.99. For more information about Of Bird and Cage follow @BirdcageProject on Twitter or visit the game’s website at ofbirdandcagegame.com.
