Solasta: Crown of the Magister Sprouts Spring Update

Indie developer Tactical Adventures have released the Spring Update for their early access tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister. One of the more asked for features from the community, the Dungeon Maker, is finally here where players can create and play turns through their very own dungeon.

In the Spring Update for Solasta: Crown of the Magister players can expect to find a variety of new gameplay features, achievements, increased progression cap, martial feats and so much more. The new set of Martial feats was designed to give martial classes more options to use their bonus action and reaction while differentiating weapons and their playstyle. Major Teleportation Gates are fully functional giving the cobbler at the local tavern a reason to complain over the loss of their best customers.

Other changes include increasing the max level cap from level 6 to level 8. An effort has been made to hunt down early game difficulty curves. Previously the developer had discussed the goal of the change is to keep things challenging, but not frustrating for players. For example players whose who have taken on the Soraks will see several changes as further fleshing out of the Sorak archetypes continues. However there was an unintended change with the Sorak Saboteurs as they have been incorrectly granted the power to sneak attack or a 2d6 roll which makes them more dangerous and harder in combination with their Doom Laughter power.

One casualty of the Spring Update will be save files as all existing ones will become incompatible with the new update. However, in a way this is a good thing as starting with a fresh run will allow players to experience the game in a new way with all changes. The inclusion of side content doesn’t force players into chasing the after main quest.

There are many more changes, additions, balancing adjustments, and bugfixes in the Spring Update. For a more complete list of changes and known issues in this update visit the Steam link here.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister and the Spring Update is available in early access on Steam or GOG for $34.99 USD until March 31, 2021 which at that time the game will see a price increase to $39.99 USD. More information about Solasta: Crown of the Magister can be found on the game’s website at solasta-game.com or the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Discord.
