Chaosmonger Studio and publisher Assemble Entertainment has set an end of January 2021 release date for their cyberpunk point and click adventure ENCODYA. Set in the dystopian near-future of Neo-Berlin, the game follows the story of a young orphan girl named Tina and her robot SAM-53.
A behind the scenes look at the game is available in the newly released second featurette. The game’s Chief Developer Nicola Piovesan takes players on a journey into the little details that help bring the world of Neo-Berlin to life. Viewers are taken through the creation process while providing developer insight into what it takes to create an authentic world with strong narrative and the subtle details that immerse players.
The point and click adventure of ENCODYA features over 8 hours of gameplay with two playable characters. Residing in Neo Berlin in the year 2062, little orphan Tina struggles with life’s challenges as a 9 year old kid. Accompanying Tina is her big clumsy metal robot guardian, SAM-53. Both reside in a makeshift rooftop shelter that overlooks the dark corporate controlled megalopolis.
Living in the urban jungle, as a kid, Tina has had to learn to live alone, scavenge dumpsters for scraps and survive. No matter what, her robot guardian has been programmed to protect her and is always by her side. Eventually she discovers her father had left a very important mission for her, a plan to save the world from its grayness. Tina and SAM-53 embark upon this epic adventure that is full of puzzles, robotic creatures, exciting dialog, and some strange characters.
Other features of the game includes over 30 non-player characters in over a hundred locations with more than 4000 lines of dialogue. The game features original art that cuts loose with stunning 2.5D visuals. In addition ENCODYA contains an original soundtrack, custom sound design and professional voice actors.
Previously in September 2019, the ENCODYA project held a successful Kickstarter after two weeks the game received full funding. By the campaign’s end, backers even knocked out some stretch goals. Since then development and work continued behind the scenes to bring the beautiful world to life including a demo at during the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition in June 2020.
ENCODYA scheduled for a January 26, 2021 release date on Windows, MacOS, and Linux through Steam and GOG. Players can visit the game’s Steam page now to wishlist and follow.
Those who wish to pre-order the game can do so from the encodya.com website where at 20% discount is available until the game’s release date. The Standard Edition is priced at $19.99 USD. A Save the World Edition is also available for $27.99 USD which includes the official soundtrack, artbook, wallpapers and a video showing the making of the game. In addition 10% of the revenues from the Save the World Edition will be donated to the children’s charity Plan International.
