Indie developer Yokereba and independent games publisher Versus Evil have released their fast-paced action puzzler Jumpala on PC. Available on most digital distribution platforms this 2D competitive PvP title is all about superpowers, sabotage, and stage control with classic arcade fighting game vibes.
Players can select between 7 characters with each having their own unique abilities to race to the top of the stage. In the game each platform a player jumps on will turn to their color and they will collect points as the platform falls off the stage. There is a constant battle with other players for platform control and highest score.
A Special Meter allows a player to activate special moves for their character. Every original character features their own playstyle with their unique ability.
As with my previous game, Jumpala is a love letter to Spryjinx, a game I played as a child. I wanted to capture the feelings I had when playing Spryjinx, and add some modern twists like special abilities and cool characters.Makario Lewis, Developer, Yokereba
From four player competitive action to free-for-all matches or 2v2 team matches there are plenty of ways to get into the action. If one’s friends are slacking off and not getting online, players have the option of going up against challenging CPUs or play against others online in 1v1 matches.
While the game is easy to learn and the mechanics sound simple, but don’t be fooled as they are tough to master. The best players will learn to plan their routes, practice their timing, and perfect their positioning as while still remaining mindful of their opponents and their actions.
Jumpala’s got an addictive formula that mixes fast, competitive gameplay inspired by fighting games and platform puzzle games. Gamers looking for a new party title won’t be disappointed.Steve Escalante, General Manager of Versus Evil
Jumpala is now available on Windows, Mac and Linux PCs through Steam and Humble Bundle for $9.99 USD. Players can also wishlist and follow the game on Steam where a free demo is also available to play. For more information visit the game’s website at jumpala.com.
