Indie developer Get Up Games and publisher Iceberg Interactive are entering frigid waters with the Icy Caverns Winter Update for their early access pirate battle royale, Blazing Sails. Besides new unexplored lands, an all new ship makes an appearance along with several holiday themed cosmetics.
Now sailing on the high seas is the Junk Ship. This vessel is a fast and agile alternative to the Brigantine. However this speed and maneuverability comes at the cost of less firepower and a slightly weaker hull.
With a new ship also comes a new area for players to explore and plunder. The Icy Caverns is a massive expanse of solid ice that has plenty of loot and space for some classic FPS chillingly cold brawls. More devious pirates will enjoy the various hiding spots as the landscape provides plenty of nooks and crannies.
Several limited time only holiday-themed cosmetics have arrived. For the more fashionable pirates one can get themselves a red Santa suit, a very angry snowman getup or one of many candy cane peglegs. In addition there are several sail emblems, flags and hull colors that are all appropriately holiday themed.
