Hammerting Dwarven Mining Sim Hits Early Access

Warpzone Studios and publisher Team17 joined forces to hollow out of Mountains of Mara in the early access dwarven mining sim Hammerting. Exploration, crafting, building and of course mining are just a few of the gameplay elements that await players.

The Overworld is locked in a fight against evil. In the bowels of the Mountains of Mara lies a dwarven base where resources are plenty and ready for excavation. Players will receive order requests from the surface which they will want to fulfill. Using their dwarven engineering players will want to dig into the mysterious caverns while expanding their base to meet their needs.

Not all dwarves are created equal. Different ancestries, traits, abilities, and equipment will determine their performance on a given task. Each strength and weakness will have an impact on the dwarven clan’s success.

As the colony grows players will take on a more active management role for the dwarves. Everything is critical in the war effort. From morale to the friendships the dwarves make will have an impact. For the base itself, players can bore and upgrade a variety of rooms that improve the function and quality of life in the base. Example rooms include forges, sculpting studios, and taverns.

In the quarry a variety of valuable materials are waiting to be mined. The trick is to safely tunnel to them and still be able to bring back the haul to base. As one travels deeper though the dangers increase. With the returned mined haul a variety of items can be crafted through a deep leveling system to eventually build the ultimate dwarven mining base.

Working with Team17 has been fantastic, they have continued to support Hammerting throughout its development as it becomes the rare gem we’re sure players will dig; we’re looking forward to seeing the feedback from players and crafting the game over the coming months as we continue to build towards a full launch. The Warpzone team and I are proud of the wonderfully unique game we’ve created, from each individual dwarf to the cavernous mines waiting to be explored; we hope players enjoy embarking on their journey deep into the Mountains of Mara.
