Indie developer Lightbulb Crew and publisher Focus Home Interactive is getting ready for next weeks release of Othercide by allowing players to pre-order the game now. The game will launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One initially with a Nintendo Switch release later this summer.
Featuring dark visuals, players are humanity’s last hope against the Suffering in this tactical RPG. They will lead their army of Daughters in an intricate combat against epic bosses in horrific battles. These battles feature dread creatures created by the worst of humanity’s crimes against itself.
There are endless combat possibilities. As players learn about the dying timeline they will discover the secrets of the City and the Suffering in a deep and complex narrative that stretches eons.
Combat in the game is an delicate and intricate dance of actions and counters using the Dynamic Timeline System that lets players plan ahead and set up impressive chains of abilities. With each fight comes the risk of failing, but that is just another opportunity to evolve and rise again as one outsmarts these nightmarish creatures in this apocalyptic world.
An artbook and soundtrack is also available for the game and can be pre-ordered now. In the official artbook the dark and hauntingly beautiful environments are showcased along with the various creatures that inhabit this world. Othercide’s original soundtrack was composed by Pierre Le Pape, Max Lilja, and Solitaris. The soundtrack features a mixture of solemn and sorrow melodies that serves as a backdrop for the war against the Suffering. A speed painting of an example of the game’s art and a track are available here.
Othercide is scheduled to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on July 28. Players can pre-order Othercide now on Steam or Humble Bundle. For more information about Othercide visit the game’s website at othercidegame.com or follow @OthercideGame on Twitter.
