Indie award winning developer Veewo Games and publisher Team17 have teamed and announced a release date for the fast-paced roguelite shooter Neon Abyss. The mid-July release will be sending players in the neon-infused procedurally generated dungeons with fun run ‘n gun action.
Players, fresh with orders from Hades himself, will be dispatched to clear rooms with enemies and mini-puzzles to solve. All of this effort is to take down the new gods that have arisen such as the Gods of Fast Food, Mobile Video, Plushies, and many more.
The unique underworld of the neon abyss features hundreds of items to collect. Items have passive effects that stack and affect each other without limit. Each map is dynamically generated with dozens of monsters and numerous secrets. When death occurs, players only come back stronger. A personalized upgrade path expands the dungeon and unlocks new rooms, bosses, items, special rules, and new endings.
If pets are a players thing, then look out for the various eggs along the journey. Nurture these eggs to hatch a random pet that has special abilities. Most pets can evolve as the action unfolds.
Besides the main objective, eliminate the new gods, there are so many other mini-games within Neon Abyss. In these unique rooms each has their own mechanics and rules. So don’t be surprised if one finds themself fishing, having a dance competition, participating in fight club, or playing the piano in the performance of a lifetime.
Neon Abyss release date is set for July 14, 2020 on PC and the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch console platforms. For PC players, the Neon Abyss time limited demo is currently available on Steam. For more information about Neon Abyss visit the game’s website here.
