National Puppy Day is here and indie developer Moonlit and publisher Frozen District are showing off latest creation, Dog Trainer, with a teaser video. Frozen District is known for the hugely popular and successful House Flipper that appeared in 2018.
Gameplay in Dog Trainer focuses on the care, training, and bonding of one’s virtual furry friend. Players can use the advanced generator that features multiple customizations to create the dog of their dreams. From there, the dog will grow from a silly puppy to a smart and skilled adult dog. Of course this is all with the careful care and training.
What dog wouldn’t like to have their own style? Players have access to hundreds of costumes and accessories. A wide range of cool tricks and commands let players teach their fluffy friends the basics to advanced acrobatic moves. With enough training one can help their pet win competitions that include agility, obedience and beauty shows.
In the Dog Trainer teaser video viewers are treated to all the joys and sometimes pain that is associated with having a dog. Sometimes they are naughty and don’t even try to figure out how those foot prints got on the walls and ceiling. However, most of the time, dogs bring joy and great companionship to those who care for them.
Inspiration for Dog Trainer came from the love of the teams four-legged friends. One in particular, Sir Miles von Vet, better known as Milo, is the fun border collie owned by Moonlit founder Michał Gardeła.
Milo is my best friend, and I can’t imagine my life without him as I take him everywhere I go – including my office. Making video games is what I do for a living, so I always look for new ways to bring awesome experiences from real life to virtual reality. As a dog person, I’ve noticed there are no games that simulate the real challenges of raising a dog – and I know that it’s hard, but extremely rewarding work. Since taking care of Milo is such an important part of my life and source of multiple emotions every day, I dreamed of making a game about that. And now it’s happening.Michał Gardeła, CEO and Founder of Moonlit
Dog Trainer can be added to wishlists now on Steam with a yet to be announced PC release date. More information about Dog Trainer can be found on the game’s Steam page.
