After a July 2019 release on Nintendo Switch, the comedic RPG Dandy Dungeon – Legend of Brave Yamada from Onion Games is now available on PC.
The story of Dandy Dungeon follows Yamada-kun who is a 36 year old programmer at a major game publisher. Yamada-kun hates his job and when alone in his apartment, deep into the night, he works to create a game of his own. This game is an RPG and he is the hero, he is Brave Yamada!
One day during the game’s development he falls head over heels at the first sight of his new neighbor Maria-chan. To help nurture these feelings, Princess Maria is added into the game. Only progressing forward into the story will it be known if Yamada-kun and Maria-chan will find love.
In this story driven romantic comedy retro visual styles are fused with modern ideas to created a roguelite-RPG unlike any other. Dandy Dungeon also features a chiptune soundtrack that layers the humming of the main character creating an amazing musical experience. Dungeons are procedurally generated and filled with loot. Weapons can be transformed into legendary blades, Dandy armor sets can be collected, and monsters cataloged during the quest for love.
For the Steam PC and Mac release all the re-balancing and refining that went into the previously released Nintendo Switch version is included. In addition the Steam version has its own world leaderboard which allows players to compete seeing who is the bravest Yamada-kun.
An expansion is in the works with preparations nearly complete for Dandy Dungon 2: Phantom Bride. In this expansion the game’s size is nearly doubled and will include brand new never-before-seen features. This expansion will be made available on all platforms for free in the near future.
Dandy Dungeon – Legend of Brave Yamada is now available on PC for Windows and Mac on Steam at a price of $18.99 USD. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch at a price of $18.99 USD. All the latest game information about Dandy Dungeon can be found on the game’s website at dandydungeon.com.
