Indie developer Roofkat’s debut title, WarpThrough will release on PC in December on PC. After one and a half years of development the fast-paced action and adventure filled platformer is nearly ready for launch.
The arcade-inspired gameplay features a different twist on combat mechanics. Players will have to stop moving before they can attack. While warping through different dimensions by means of portal jumping, players will have to find a balance between keeping the endless stream of monsters in check before the next portal jump.
At the core of this pixelated universe is its gameplay. However, it is the characters that bring it to life. Story mode allows players the opportunity to get to know Charlotte. She is a hot-headed teen who uses fiery punches to take down monsters. Her dad, Manor, is a scientist that creates warpholes and fends off enemies with electrical traps.
In addition to the cast is Three who is an friend of Charlotte. He packs a useful laser gun for battle, however his aim leaves something to be desired. Lastly there is Ebbie, Charlotte’s dog, who is eager for a walk goes along for the dimensional ride.
Story mode allows players to unlock new levels while also discovering how to play with all the characters. Also, they will need to put a stop to all of the invading monsters.
It’s been an adventure creating WarpThrough by myself throughout the last years, and I’m extremely proud of how everything has come together so far. I can’t wait to see what people think of WarpThrough’s unique gameplay!Ramon Huiskamp, founder of Roofkat
