Astroneer fans and players can rejoice as a long awaited feature, the Paver, has been added in the new Groundwork Update. Along with the update comes a new limited time event that adds some scary flora just in time for Halloween.
Fresh on the heels of last month’s Wanderer Update comes the Groundwork Update from SystemEra. In this update along with the Paver, comes a Medium Canister for soil and several vehicle changes. The Paver costs 5,000 Bytes and can be printed on the Small Printer with 1 Aluminium Alloy and 1 Silicone. At a cost of 2,500 Bytes the Medium Canister can printed on same printer with 1 Plastic and 1 Glass.
Vehicles now have in-air stabilization. Rovers now automatically self-correct their rotation while airborne and are less prone to flipping over. Players can manually adjust the pitch and yaw/roll of rovers while airborne using the WASD keys or Left-Joystick. Control over Yaw or Roll can be toggles in the options menu.
Drill controls and UI have seen an overhaul too. They are now more consistent with the current Terrain Tool cursor and remains visible when obscured. The vertical tilt of the camera is now more clearly displayed along with the slope of the rover relative to the ground plane. In addition multiple improvements to the feel and responsiveness.
In case players wanted to make some noise or just wanted to let their fellow Astroneers know they have arrived, horns have been added. A Small Trumpet Horn, Medium Buggy Horn, and Large Fog Horn are available with research costs of 1000, 2000, and 4000 Bytes.
According to System Era reports are coming in from the Sol system about strange new flora that is appearing on Atrox. Word is the new flora might be a bit scary and frightening. In addition a new visor and suit palette is granted upon login. Plus there is a secret unlockable visor reward connected to the limited time event that runs until November 14, 2019.

Astroneer is currently available on Humble Bundle or Steam for PC and the Xbox One for $29.99 USD. PS4 owners can enjoy Astroneer on November 15, 2019 when the game launches on that platform. The Groundwork Update for Astroneer was made available on October 24, 2019.
