Fat Dog Games and Climou announced on Wednesday, Haxor, their retro action 2D platformer will launch on November 29.
Haxor celebrates rocket jumping in this retro vibe platform game. Kla, the sole female survivor of a blackhole research team who lost her memory, can use her rockets to jump to explore unreachable places. Or Kla can use those rockets to blast enemies.
Kla has a set of rechargeable powers to aid in recovering her memory. Invulnerability will aid in fighting off dangerous enemies or environmental hazards. Invisibility allows Kla to sneak past powerful foes and proximity activated environmental events. More powers are unlocked as Kla explores four planets with expansive multi-stage levels and obstacles. A wide array of weapons are available for boss fights.
Using inspiration from 8-bit classics, Haxor features a 16-color palette, chunky pixel art, and a chiptune filled soundtrack.
All of these game features setup a classic adventure platformer with the goal of blasting aliens into bits.
“Haxor is about bringing back the best parts of the games we loved as children, from music and art to timeless gameplay,” said Łukasz Majewski, co-founder of Climou. “The great joy of Haxor is in mastering its weapons and other systems so you can explore its huge environments to the fullest and unearth all its secrets.”
