Blizzard Entertainment has announced several details for World of Warcraft Classic including a launch date. In addition, current subscribers can opt in for an invite-only closed beta test.
On August 27, 2019 and for some August 26 World of Warcraft players and fans will be able to relive or experience for the first time the early days of Azeroth. World of Warcraft Classic will see a global simultaneous release on Tuesday, August 27 at 12AM CEST in Paris, which translates to 3PM PDT and 6PM EDT Monday, August 26.
With the Classic launch also comes another milestone in the history of Azeroth with World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary Collector’s Edition. People who purchase the collectors edition will receive a Ragnaros Statue, an Onyxia Pin, Map of Azeroth Mouse Pad, Fine Art Prints, 30 Days of Game Time, and Alabaster Mounts. These mounts will only be available in the non-Classic Warcraft as they were not in the game as of patch 1.12.0. The collector’s edition has a price of $99.99 USD on the Blizzard Gear store and is set for an October 8, 2019 release.
In addition, later this year when the 15th anniversary celebration begins in Battle for Azeroth all players can participate in an epic raid that will see some of the most iconic bosses from the game’s history. Players who complete this raid will earn the Obsidian Worldbreaker mount.
Blizzard is inviting players with active subscriptions to opt in for a chance to participate in a closed beta test that begins May 15. This is to help polish and put the finishing touches on the game. Even more players will be able to participate in a series of stress tests, scheduled for later in the summer. Players who wish to opt into the beta will need to visit their account management page and edit their beta preferences to make sure they have checked the box to opt into the World of Warcraft Classic Beta.
