Evergate is Headed to PC with Release Date Next Week

Stone Lantern Games and publisher PQube have announced a next week release date for the 2D puzzle platformer Evergate on Steam for PC. The Nintendo Switch console version was released in mid-August after being featured on Nintendo’s Indie World showcase.

The game is centered around a child-like soul named Ki. All the action takes place in the beautifully handcrafted and colorfully vibrant realm of the afterlife. As players guide Ki on their journey, memories of the life once had are unlocked. It is in the memories that reveal not only Ki’s past, but a connection to another soul across time and space.

A unique align-to-shoot mechanic, the Soulflame, is featured throughout Evergate. Various crystals are spread around each level and when fired upon by the Soulflame their powers are unlocked. These crystals will aid Ki in navigating each level in order to reach the end gate.

Levels also feature bonus objectives. By completing them players can build up Ki’s essence counter which can be used to unlock ancient artifacts. These powerful unlocks will boost Ki’s abilities.

Besides stunningly colorful environmental backdrops and illustrations, an orchestrated original soundtrack accompanies players on their journey with Ki. Each piece was tailored to enhance each environment and was recorded by a live orchestra. One of the central pieces of music in the game is Ki’s Lullaby. This piece was originally written by Evergate’s composer Mike Miller for when his daughter was born.

Evergate is currently available on the Nintendo Switch through the Nintendo eShop at the regular price of $19.99 USD. Currently the game is on sale for $16.99 USD during the Nintendo Indie World Sale that runs through August 30, 2020.

The PC release date for Evergate is set for September 1, 2020 through Steam. Players can wishlist the game now. For more information about Evergate visit the game’s website at evergategame.com or join the official Evergate Discord.
