Publisher Whitethorn Games and developer EPHEMERA have revealed details about a brand-new title, the action-packed co-op multiplayer roguelike Kernel Hearts. Challenging 3D hack and slash gameplay combines with roleplaying and roguelike elements alongside anime aesthetics to destroy a god and save the world.
As a member of the elite super-powered android magical girls fighting force, M.A.H.O.U Unit, players along with up to three allies are tasked with destroying a god to save the world. Starting at the base of the mythical Tower of Babel, players will fight their way through a variety of powerful enemies. Each level offers an opportunity to gain crucial skills and magical powers to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
Only the most resolute will reach the heavenly heights to dethrone their god. Defeat is not an option for a world on the brink of extinction. For those who meet their demise, the unit will return to the lab where rewards from previous missions can be used to unlock and equip new skill chips. Players can customize their unit to match their own playstyle.
Every run allows players to hunt for temporary skills that enhance their abilities. Unleash devastating strikes and combos to conquer the relentless enemy threats and wipe out boss guardians that rule each domain. Each celestial domain contains unique allies who will help on the journey. Befriend them and see what becomes of this bond.
Note that while in the cursed Tower, spending too much time in a given area will draw out even more powerful foes. Utilize the Tower’s energy to dispel the curses and transform briefly in the ultimate magical form, unleashing total annihilation on any enemies or threats standing in the way.
