Publisher Curve Games and indie developer Microbird have released Dungeons of Hinterberg on PC and Xbox. The comic book style is a mix of single player ARPG and social sim all set in the Austrian Alps.
Battle monstrous creatures from Alpine myths. Explore dungeons and forge friendships in the small Austrian tourist village of Hinterberg. Lush scenery, crisp mountain air, and magical dungeons await brave adventurers from around the world.
In total there are 25 dungeons. Each with a focus on either combat, puzzle, or boss fight. Over 20 enemy types and numerous bosses inhabit the lands. Four visually distinct biomes surround the area with each having between 5 and 7 dungeons.
By blending hack ‘n’ slash action RPG gameplay with social simulation elements, players are able to conquer loot-filled dungeons and then kickback with the locals at Hinterberg’s famous apres-slay bar. Have a Schnitzel and chat it up with the more than 20 locals and other slayers from around the world. Build deep relationships to unlock special abilities and gameplay systems or be given key items that will aid in their efforts in the dangerous dungeons.
