Independent game developer, Aruma Studios, has released a playable demo for their upcoming supernatural point-and-click adventure, Shadows of the Afterland.
Revealed last October, Shadows of the Afterland comes from a studio that has established itself as a mainstay in the point-and-click genre. The studio’s previous title, Intruder in Antiquonia, released in 2022 and has a 91% “Very Positive” rating on Steam.
The team has poured their hearts into creating a vibrant, detailed world, designed with exquisite pixel art, stunning animations, and a soundtrack that perfectly complements the game’s atmosphere.

Set in 1960s Madrid, Shadows of the Afterland takes players on a supernatural journey through the world of the living and beyond. Players are challenged to unravel the mysteries of a soul containing the memories of a yet to be born woman named Carolina.
We’re thrilled to finally offer players a glimpse into the mystical and eerie universe we’ve crafted in Shadows of the Afterland. This demo presents a taste of the challenges and story waiting for them.
Rubén López, Co-Founder, Aruma Studios
The demo features the first chapter of the saga. Play as Carolina and explore the realms of the afterlife. Utilize magic and shift between the dimensions. Possess the living to solve puzzles that are intertwined in the game’s compelling narrative.
