Publisher Tripwire Presents and Canadian developer Sweet Bandits Studios have released the community-focused Operation Overhaul update for Deceive Inc., their multiplayer FPS stealth and spycraft shooter title.
Addressing community feedback, the Deceive Inc. Operation Overhaul update delivers quality of life improvements and combat tweaks for both new and veteran spies. Players will notice a variety of visual improvements to animations and behind the scenes number adjustments to improve the look and feel of combat. Out of cover spy collision, melee combat reliability, and the addition of contextual pings for communication improvement are a sampling of the update’s combat improvements.
For more flexibility in the field, agents can now find first aid vials throughout the maps or purchase them with intel. Agents can hold a maximum of three vials at any given time. Each use will restore 20 health.
Vault Printers are a new device that will change up the game’s flow and give a reason to explore the vault. To unlock golden doors and access the objective room, spies will need to bring 10 intel to one of the new Vault Printers and exchange the intel for a golden keycard. Agents will want to exercise caution as printers take 30 seconds to print a new golden keycard and all nearby spies will be alerted to the action.
Maps have seen a number of changes based on player feedback and date. The changes will create new combat and stealth opportunities and include team and item spawn reworks. For example exterior scaffolding has been added to Diamond Spire to create escape options. Another example are flow changes to the vault and surrounding themed hotel space on Silver Reef.
Two or more players can now start a private lobby in a new sandbox mode. This new mode enables agents to experience the full assortment of weapons, gadgets, expertises, and passives of every spy in the game.
Beginner agents and new players will benefit from a range of changes to help them familiarize themselves with the game. Enemy spy bots have been added to the game and will be spread throughout the matchmaking process. This will allow new opportunities to learn the spycraft trade and gain valuable skills to use against veteran agents.
Other changes include improvements to the controller experience including the ability to remap inputs. Feedback to the overall management of the analog sticks has been addressed with a completely new and smarter aim assist system. Players who use controllers should find a more flexible and intuitive controller experience.
