Tripwire Presents and developer Torn Banner Studios have released the substantial Winter War update for their bloody multiplayer medieval slasher Chivalry 2. In addition to the update, a Free Weekend event is underway until December 12, on both PC and consoles.
The Chivalry 2 Winter War update introduces the new Campaign Pass. Players can earn experience points during the Winter War Campaign Pass to unlock free in-game rewards, such as currency and armory items. Premium rewards can be unlocked and upgraded as well. A Winter War Premium Campaign Pass is available for 1,000 Crowns in-game. Unlike traditional battle passes, the Campaign Pass has no time limit.
A new team objective map, The Assault on Thayic Stronghold is available. This map is set in a brand-new biome that is chilling cold with ice and snow. The Agathians are cornered by the Masons in their northern stronghold. Masons are tasked with laying siege to Thayic Stronghold where the goal is to kill the self-proclaimed Agathian Knight’s leader, King Argon II. To accomplish this daunting task, Masons will need to break the walls down, lower he main fort’s drawbridge, and capture the courtyard.
If the Agatha Knights fail to defend the courtyard, the top player will be crowned king. As the new VIP, King Argon II, this player must lead their team to victory by taking charge and raising banners to reclaim lost ground. The VIP must be protected at all costs.
Reimagined for Chivalry 2, the new mighty Quarterstaff has returned from the original title. Built for the Crusader class, the Quarterstaff delivers quick, short-ranged slashing attacks and slow mid-long range stabs. Plus the overhead smash. A unique special attack can cleave through enemies while leaving the player with plenty of stamina to hold the line.
Holiday themed maps and weaponized presents will be appearing as the Chivalry 2 Merry Chivmas Winter Event will be returning. All of the holiday cheer will last until January 5, 2023.
Several holiday sale promotions are planned across all platforms. Players looking for a great deal will want to follow all of the official Chivalry 2 social channels.
