The 1.5 Update has arrived for the 2D rogue-lite platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer and with the update comes several changes to the Frost Skull. Publisher NEOWIZ and developer SouthPAW Games is celebrating the game on Steam with a weeklong 35% discount that ends on June 23, 2022.
With the arrival of the v1.5 update for Skul: The Hero Slayer brings a focus on the Frost Skull and its boss battle usage. Prior to this update, the new Freeze system could neutralize a boss with the Frost Skull skills by freezing the boss in ice bringing about a frozen defeat. The developer felt this might reduce the tension and excitement of the battle.
As a result, the developer overestimated the Frost Skull ability of neutralizing a boss and designed the Frost Skull to be weaker than expected. This update is boosting the ability of the Frost Skull to a suitable level, however the high value of Freeze and Stun effect in boss battle is not the best scenario. To solve this problem changes will be coming in the future to improve the Status Effect Resistance system.
Other changes in the update include the Status Effect feature being retooled from the ground up and now applies damage to enemies while also affecting bosses. A total of 33 new inscriptions have been added. Several quality of life improvements and bug fixes have been deployed including changes in the UI that help players check character stats and information more easily. More details about this update can be found here.
