Ratalaika Games and indie developer The Bworg today released on PC and console the brutally challenging platformer TEN – Ten Rooms, Ten Seconds. Available on Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, TEN throws players into a relentless gauntlet of ten-second deathtraps.
The game’s premise is simple yet very challenging. In this single player game, players will need to venture through ten floors of an unground facility. Each floor contains ten rooms with each room sealing in the player for ten seconds. During that ten seconds players will need to avoid various traps that are trying to kill them.
Tokens can be collected and then spent in safe rooms at the start to unlock upgrades and abilities to help the player survive. Focusing on the learn from failure approach, each room is technically a puzzle where the player will need to discover their own solution. Overcoming each floor’s gauntlet advances players to the next level. While sounding simple, the game’s challenges are comparable to games similar to Super Meat Boy while taking influence from more modern games such as those in the soulslike genre.
Both trophy hunters and casuals can enjoy the game. An easy mode allows for optional invincibility that allows players to enjoy the story and bypass the difficulty of the challenges. For those looking for an extreme challenge, there is the optional Hell Mode. As players progress the game’s story takes off in a direction most will not suspect.
TEN – Ten Rooms, Ten Seconds is now available on Windows PC via Steam for $4.99. A 20% off special promotion run on Steam until June 10, 2022. A demo is also available on Steam. The game is available on Nintendo Switch from the Nintendo Store, on PS4 and PS5 from the PlayStation Store, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S from Microsoft for $4.99.
