Coffee Stain Publishing and Vaulted Sky Games today released Update 1 for their early access multiplayer hide-and-seek prop game, Midnight Ghost Hunt. Besides the new Doll Factory map, the game is on sale this week with a 20% off discount on Steam.
The Doll Factory map is now open for business. This map features an abandoned doll factory with all the expected eerie and terrifying components. From murder dolls to new hiding spots this map is back.
Ghostmaster has been reworked. A small buckler has been added that can be used to block incoming damage. While not as effective as the full riot shield, this small buckler can be useful when dueling a Ghost before and after midnight. The buckler can also chain lightning damage up to three times against Ghosts or moving possessed props.
Sledgehammer has seen a rework as well with the addition of a charge up attack. The higher a player heft’s their hammer, the stronger the swing. Can destroy large props in one or two hits depending on the charge up.
Several new hero props are ready to be possessed. A frighteningly familiar Murder Doll runs around and lunges at hunters with a knife. Warehouse Gate will act like a guillotine. The Forklift will yeet hunters into the air. Soda Machines will launch cans of Midnight Ghost Drink at players while Speakers will pump up the volume and blast hunters with sound waves knocking them around.
Both the Lord and Lady Ghost early backer skins along with The Veteran and Rookie Hunter skins are now available. As a bonus for those who have been patiently waiting, two new emotes exclusive to Early Backers, the Gentleman and Lady are included. Two other skins the Satisfactory Pioneer Hunter and Satisfactory Pioneer Ghost are now available too.
New titles for those who want to flex their Ghost Shard balance are available. Get ready to spend big as the The Wealthy costs 100,000 shards alone. Four new emotes and seven new victory poses also have appeared in Update 1.
Update 1 comes after six small patches since the game’s March Early Access release. The patches primarily focused on bug fixes, tweaks, balancing changes, and a few game additions including a Rainbow emote and limited event Easter Egg prop.
Midnight Ghost Hunt along with Update 1 is available in Early Access for Windows PC via Humble Bundle and Steam for $19.99. An Early Backer Bundle is available on Humble Bundle and Steam that includes the base game, Early Backer DLC pack, and soundtrack.
