Torn Banner Studios has been very busy with all the new content in the Chivalry 2: House Aberfell update that is now live on PC and consoles. Published by Tripwire Presents and global retail publishing partner Deep Silver, this latest update to the multiplayer title adds a new 64-player team objective map, The Raid of Aberfell along with several more new gameplay features.
The Raid on Aberfell is here with all its glory and chaos. In this large-scale 64-player team objective map players will find that the Agatha Knights are invading the birth land of the Mason Order’s King Malric. Players are given orders to sack the village, destroy the Mason Order’s obelisks, and eliminate all of the Druids and their heresy.
Defending players of the new map will play as the new Druid playable character. Druids are tasked with the defense of the Mason Order’s ancient stones. Armed with staff melee weapons, Druids enter battle wearing a variety of new helmets including the goat, wild pig, deer, and eagle. Top scoring players will be granted control of the Druids as the Order’s last line of defense against the onslaught from the Agatha Knights.
Sacking villages can lead to new opportunities. In the case of Aberfell, attacking players can steal pigs in their hog hoarding effort. Both livestock and peasants can be captured by carrying them on one’s shoulder, effectively denying the Mason Order’s access to food and labor.
Another new gameplay feature is generating some buzz. While exploring the new raid map, players will want to look out for oversized beehives. Players can grab these hives and throw them at enemies. These weaponized hives will unleash a swarm of angry insects causing area of effect damage.
New weapons and armory items are available. The massive and beastly blade for the Vanguard class, The Highland Sword, will butcher enemies and make others flee. This sword is complete with new animations, weapon values, special attack and can be customized with new Giant Claymore and Executioner sword skins. A wide range of new cosmetics are available in the armory that includes the Agatha Gallowglass Armor and Mason Clan Armor along with several weapon skins and 10 new face paints.
