Team17 and developer Stormind Games announced that their upcoming story-driven action RPG, Batora: Lost Haven, will feature a preview at Steam Next Fest. The digital event takes place on February 21, 2022, and will through February 28. Steam users will be able to check out the game’s prologue and experience this brand new IP from Stormind Games.
This upcoming sci-fi adventure features a deep hack-and-slash and twin-stick shooter combat style in addition to its rich narrative. Players will have the opportunity to explore colorful and diverse alien landscapes with hand-painted visuals taking inspiration from 1950’s science fiction.
Stepping into the role of Avril, players find themselves as an unlikely young hero. She is the Earth’s only hope after a catastrophic disaster destroyed most of the world. The 16-year-old Avril not only witnessed this destructive event, but also the death of her older sister Rose.
Now together with her best friend Mila, Avril has discovered two amulets, connected to the Sun and Moon. Quickly they learn about two unknown entities that lead her to start a quest to restore the Earth. The journey is a sci-fi adventure across the cosmos where strange alien worlds are explored and a variety of unique beings are met. By discovering secrets these two can possibly save the dying Earth while impacting the fate of the universe and those who live in it.
Combat is fast and frenetic. Battles are multi-layered and feature fantastic creatures and alien foes. A unique Nature Switch mechanic allows Avril to balance her mental and physical powers to solve environmental challenges and overcome hostile threats.
Batora: Lost Haven will be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S later in 2022. PC users can wishlist the game on Steam. The prologue demo for Batora: Lost Haven will be available during the February 2022 Steam Next Fest digital event.
