Publisher SOEDESCO and developer Studio Aurum fully unleashed their creature taming RPG Monster Crown on PC and Nintendo Switch. A completely new trailer, viewable below, marks the release of the game after being in early access for a year on Steam. Game releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are set for November 2, 2021.
On Crown Island, players get to unravel the cruel story of the isle while creating their own monster legacy. The land has a history of sadistic rulers and heroic saviors. Currently the lands are under threat from a malicious young woman seeking endless power. In the end it is up to the player and the monster’s they make pacts with to be either be a savior or a dark messiah.
As a kid who grew up playing monster taming games, the idea of making my own and one day releasing it to the world was something I didn’t dare dream. But thanks to the love of our backers and support of SOEDESCO, this dream has become a reality. If you want a truly content packed monster taming game, this is the game for you.

In the trailer viewers are given a glimpse into the pixel art monster world. With over 200 base monsters, players can breed more than 1200 species. Players can make pacts with monsters for shelter in exchange for their protection. All throughout the journey and turn-based combat the end goal is always the same on Crown Islands and that is to restore balance from the from the evil ruler.
Original development on Monster Crown began in February 2016 as a passion project. At the end of July 2020 the game entered early access on Steam. Development of the game featured a five member team that included of Lead Developer Jason Walsh, Designer Writer Shad Schwarck, and Composer Alex Naveira. During the early access period the game has seen 40 updates including 10 content updates that added more to the story of the game along with new monsters, features, and regions.
Monster Crown is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux for PC through Steam for $19.99 USD. The Nintendo Switch version is available for $29.99 USD and the PS4 and Xbox One release are set for November 2.
