Gleamer Studio released their challenging city builder Settlement Survival ahead of its planned Friday, October 15th early access release. After a huge success at Steam Next Fest as one of the most downloaded, wishlisted, and played demos at the event, the developer is inviting players to play the game four days early.
Taking cues and inspiration from the genre-defining Banished, Settlement Survival offers players a chance to create a suitable home for their band of survivors. The game offers deep gameplay for city building enthusiasts and fans fans of the genre. In game players can manipulate the landscape, manage limited supplies, plant crops, hunt wildlife, gather resources, and develop trade routes.
Featuring low-poly graphics, the game’s look is very deceitful when compared to the challenges that lie ahead. Prosperity is no easy task as seasonal weather cycles and natural disasters constantly impact one’s settlement. From torrential rain and heavy snowstorms to tornadoes and firestorms players will need to pay attention to early warning signs in order to survive.
Rare blueprints allow for unique builds. Complex development routes for new buildings and abilities along with a town’s mayor all help determine the characteristics of a settlement. Ultimately the player’s management capability of the needs of the citizens will determine of the settlement thrives or survives.
Settlement Survival is available in early access on Windows PC through Steam for $14.99 USD. A special 10% off early access launch promotion runs until October 18, 2021. The Settlement Survival demo from Steam Next Fest is still available on the game’s Steam page. For more information about Settlement Survival visit the game’s Steam page.
