Publisher gamigo and developer Kinship Entertainment have set a new August early access release date for its competitive 4v4 MOBA hybrid title, Skydome. After some technical issues causing delays to the original July early access date, the Skydome Team is ready for an August 18th early access release.
Coming with the August release is the massive early access path, Erebus Invasion, that will add several additional features to the game. Marcus, a new champion will be making his mighty hammer felt in his Skydome debut. Erebus is invading with his mischievous Shadowlings from the jungle. The new Invasion System allows players to fight their enemies face to face after defeating these dark creatures. Players are able to take direct control of these creatures and launch their attacks against the enemy’s territory.
The story of Skydome begins with a temple floating high in the skies that was created by an ancient people. From this temple champions are sent out to fight armies and monsters across the universe. Champions create defenses and towers, using their own individual strategies and skills, to dominate the battle arena. Every champion is unique and gives players the opportunity to explore new abilities, defense towers, and strategies.
Matches in the multiplayer game that blends the MOBA and tower defense genres, are designed to be fast-paced 3D isometric action. Every moment in a match can bring thrilling challenges and new surprises. Players pick their playstyle and develop their own strategies in teams of four. Some may choose to run straight into battle head on and use special intervention skills that sabotage opponents. Other players may choose to be more strategic. Becoming the ultimate champion of the battle arena will require mastery of deathmazes, magic portals, and time manipulation.
With the Early Access start comes the first Battlepass for this season and the start of a free rotation of playable champions from Skydome’s diverse roster. Since the Skydome closed beta run that started this past April, according to gamigo, has seen thousands of thrilling online matches. Founders can participate in the head start and access servers a week before other players on August 11, 2021.
Skydome now has an August 18, 2021 early access release date on Glyph and Steam. On both platforms, players can pre-purchase various Skydome – Founders Packs that range from $12.99 USD to $69.99 USD.
