Team17 and Wonderscope Games invites players to come and enjoy the cozy simple life of their early access community sim Hokko Life. From designing their own home to decorating the town, the game offers a powerful craft and design system.
In Wonderscope Games’ debut title, Hokko Life, players have near absolute control over customizing every aspect of their virtual life in game. From customizing the wallpaper to the shape, size and angle of chair cushions, players are able to design their ideal laid-back lifestyle.
The powerful crafting and designer system allows players to tailor the world to their desires. In the 3D creative space players can alter shapes, materials, and colors to design just about everything in the town. Within the workshop one can create clothes for the townsfolk or furniture for the various houses in town. Everything a player creates can also be shared with their friends and other players around the world.
When not in the workshop creating new designs, players can enjoy the town and surrounding world. The town is full of friendly locals of varying personalities that players can spend the day chatting away. One can grab their bug catching net and go on a classic bug and critter hunt. There are many critters crawling around town and the world waiting to be caught and collected.
Robert Tatnell is the solo indie developer behind Wonderscope Games and Hokko Life. Some of the game’s early concepts can be found online that date back to 2017. To help fund the development of the game, Tatnell has had a Patreon since 2019 where supporters would receive frequent and almost weekly updates on the game’s development progress.
With the launch also comes news on the game’s first content update. According to a tweet posted on the Hokko Life Twitter account the first update will feature farming and is coming in July.
Hokko Life is available in early access for Windows PC release date set for June 2, 2021. The game will be available on PC through Steam.
