Wired Productions and developer Tomas Sala have released a new story trailer for their airborne ocean-world fantasy RPG The Falconeer. The trailer gives glimpses into various gameplay aspects for the Xbox One and PC game.
In the trailer viewers are introduced to the Tegan Hitchens voiced Seachantress. This character acts as the player’s main guide in the vast immersive world of Ursee. Settlements can be seen and the beautiful open-world landscape and sights. Also included in the video are some third-person gameplay that features dogfighting battles with ranged weaponry.
Everything seen in the trailer is a series of short cuts of raw gameplay footage from the game’s first chapter. In this chapter players are put up against pirates in fast sail ships on the open sea. A bit of the Maw, an unnatural canyon of water that spans the game world, is briefly examined. Plus there are various warmongering rival faction settlements that fight for the mysterious secrets hidden in the ocean’s depths.
The first settlement that players will visit is Saladmount. It is a place harvests wood-like material from giant fungal seatrees. This material makes for a great ultra-light building resource. Shard is the second settlement and home to House Borgia, one of the most important Noble houses in the game. Imperial Harbour is the third settlement and the largest city in all of Ursee with the royal seat at the top of Imperial Peak.
In November 2019 at X019 in London, The Falconeer took center with a playable demo. At Game Connection 2019, the game was nominated for various developer awards and won Best Hardcore Game and Best Hardcore PC/Console.
The Falconeer is heading to Steam for PC and the Xbox One console in 2020. PC players can add the game to their Steam wishlist on the game’s Steam page. More information about the game can be found at thefalconeer.com.
