Minimalist City Builder Game Islanders Out Now

GrizzlyGames have launched their second title, a strategy based minimalist city builder game, Islanders, on Steam. Within an hour of release Islanders climbed to the top of the popular new releases section on Steam.

Gameplay is all about building cities on colorful islands. Each island is procedurally generated. Players start with a set of buildings in their inventory that can be placed on their island.

Placing a building on the island rewards points. The amount of points rewarded depends on what surrounds the building when it is placed. Gather points to refill inventory and unlock new buildings.

Once a city becomes big enough, players may choose to travel to the next island. Since all islands are procedurally generated, players could potentially explore forever. The game ends when a player runs out of buildings and get to see their final score.

The minimum system requirements for Islanders is Windows 7 or higher, Intel Core i3 2.0 GHz or AMD equivalent CPU, 2 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX950 video card, and 200 MB of hard drive space. Recommended system requirements are Windows 10 with an Intel Core i5 3.00 GHz or AMD equivalent CPU, 4 GB RAM, and Nvidia GeForce GTX970 video card.

Islanders is available on Steam for Windows PC at a price of $4.99 USD. A special launch promotion runs until April 11, 2019 of $4.49 USD.

GrizzlyGames (@_grizzlygames Twitter) is a small indie studio based in Berlin, Germany. Islanders is the studio’s second title behind their debut game Superflight. The studio’s first title became a surprise hit within the indie community.
