Evergate Exceeds Funding Goal

The Kickstarter campaign for Evergate exceeded its funding goal. With over 718 backers and a few stretch goals reached Stone Lantern Games saw Evergate funded at 135%.

Evergate is a 2D puzzle-platformer that follows the story of a child-like soul named Ki in the afterlife. Players use a unique align-to-shoot mechanic to unleash their Soulflame and harness energy from crystals to solve puzzles and find lost memories on Ki’s journey.

With the successful fundraising campaign ending also comes the end of the #EvergateChallenge. The challenge consisted of a speedrun of the demo with three tiers that earned participants a special title on the Evergate Discord and a certificate of completion. Stone Lantern Games thanked all those that participated and was amazed “to see people employ crazy strategies, ones we never even dreamed of, to shave seconds off their time.”

The fastest world record time came in at 2:14.8 for participant Oshyu who sued a mouse and keyboard. For controller only, Grondious holds the record at 2:32.2.

After thanking supporter’s the studio game a quick insight into what is next for Evergate. Stone Lantern Games is transitioning back into full game development mode. More bug fixes, new crystals, new puzzles, and building out the story of Ki. Progress reports will be shared along with regular updates that will contain behind the scenes moments, gameplay updates, concept art, and much more.
