Solo indie developer and self-publisher Alessandro Guzzo released his first-person Lovecraftian horror adventure The Alien Cube on PC. This is Guzzo’s second game and is presented as a loose sequel to his first title The Land of Pain.
Meet the lonely Arthur. As this character, who happens to be the nephew of uncle Edgar who disappeared in the first game, is tasked to investigate the disappearance. Strange events start to occur and Arthur’s life starts to take a dramatic turn. The world in which Arthur lives is intertwined with a terrible secret.
Edgar played an important role in the dark and occult realty of the secret world. Nightmarish visions torment Arthur and the only way to find the truth is to seek it. Of course on this journey one will need to survive the darkness haunting them all the while venturing deeper into the abyss.
Horrifying places and frightening objects fill the world. Players are immersed into a visually powerful world where they must solve puzzles and seek out clues to unravel the mystery. As players wonder the various locations of snowy forests, forgotten dungeons, and otherworldly locales they will encounter hostile weather conditions that threaten their survival. With the power of the CryEngine 5 graphics and high-quality sounds help with the Lovecraftian immersive experience.

Alessandro Guzzo (@GuzzoProds Twitter) is a solo developer from Italy. Guzzo utilizes the CryEngine for its realistic graphics when developing his cosmic horror adventures. Released in September 2017, The Land of Pain is Guzzo’s first game and has seen both second positions on Steam’s Top-Seller and Most Popular Releases lists. Work on Guzzo’s second project, The Alien Cube began in 2018 and was released in October 2021.
